He sucked life from her jugular with an overpowering frenzy and with every swig she was awakened further into abyss. When he was finished devouring, what once used to be a live source of sweet warmth and an object of his intense unabashed obsession, he crept back into the shadow-less abyss from where he had emerged and waited patiently for her to open her eyes.
It wasn’t painful for her as she had initially feared; instead, it had been relaxing, like someone was injecting carefully measured doses of some magical potion which seemed part peace and part calmness. Towards the end, she had felt so completely full of the stillness, which the peace and calm seemed to have brought along, that she had wanted nothing more than chaos. The deep yearning for it in her powerful bones made her recoil instantly and suddenly she found herself staring into the eyes of her predator who seemed nothing more than her prey at the moment.
Neither it was the knowledge that he wasn’t a predator anymore that he once had been nor it was the familiarity of reflection which had once belonged to her eyes that had stopped her from wringing his neck but it was the chaos of his depths which had spoken to her, calling out to her calm waters binding him irrevocably to her for as long as she existed.
And thus mingled in their shared chaotic ripples, they knew what it was to feel extremely weakened and supremely powerful, both at the same time.

This is great Bulbul. I wonder what it is that is so fascinating about the vampire 🧛♀️ and it’s insatiable appetite. Nicely written my friend.
Hope you and your loved ones are all well. Sending you love and hugs. 🤗💕❤️Joni

So sorry, Joni, for rescuing this comment late. (I didn’t know why it was there in spam though).
I greatly appreciate your thoughts, always! Thank you so much for the kind words, you are right about the fascination; it is one of the extremely explored topics for ages and yet we aren’t bored of it, not yet anyway.
I and my family are all well, hope the same for you, dear! Stay blessed🤗💕🥰🙏

Thanks Bulbul. You are a sweetheart. Don’t think for a moment I have forgotten that you were the first one who encouraged me to submit work and Gabriela was the next. I will never forget your kindnesses. 🤗💕❤️🦋

Stunningly lovely…. nicest new thing I’ve seen on WP today. Love. I love the way you empower women rather than belittle, condescend toward, or condemn them in your writing! (I mean, of course… but there is a lot of writing around here that appears to do the opposite — even by female-identifying writers). What’s more, it’s fresh, not something reposted (as what also happens around here a lot it seems). Very rejuvenating, indeed; with an Octobery feel. Perfect balance. Much love to you dear A. 🙏💛🎶🙌

This is the best thing that I’ve heard about my writing skills so far and it really means a huge ton, truly! I believe in women empowerment and gender equality a lot more than other things so I am very delighted to know that comes out in my writing as well. Unfortunately, I very well understand what you mean, most of the art (of every kind) ends up ridiculing the female sex either intentionally or otherwise.
I can’t emphasize enough the gratitude I’ve for your reading; for your most generous words and many other ways which I couldn’t describe in plain words. Your inspiring and supportive presence is a blessing, Lia!
Thank you🙏💕🤗🙏
