“Do you realize that I don’t understand a word you are saying?”

“Jeez! Why do you, humans, have to be so slow all the time? Is all of your kind the same, like you or you are the exception?”

“I am not slow; it is you who is being rude to me for no reason at all. I didn’t ask you to be here and if you don’t want to stay ‘with me’ than you are free to leave.”

“Look, I can’t, okay. I understand it isn’t your fault; it’s just that I have done this routine more than a hundred times. Sorry, if I wasn’t sensitive enough to your mid-death crisis.”

“Oh, it’s okay man! It would be really helpful if you can start by explaining some of this to me; it is my first time, after all.”

“Aagrh! Okay. Here we go again. Look you were stabbed in the middle of a brawl on the streets.”

“Hmm…so, why I am in the bar?”

“How would I know? It is your mid-death crisis! You would know that, maybe because you love this place or whatever. As I said, I don’t know. And I am your guardian angel, my job is to look out for you and I can only leave you after you are dead and I hand you over safely to Bells.”

“Woah! Slow down with the information dump. Your job is to look out for me…considering the situations I have been in, in my life, you haven’t done a good job of it. Have you?”

“And the complaints…they never get over with your kind, always cribbing over every single thing. Believe me, it hasn’t been a fun ride for me as well; considering the sheer amount of things you messed up, you were lucky enough to live for as long as you did and it was all because of my hard work. Only if you would have been a little responsible I wouldn’t have to put my neck out every single time.”

“Ha! I was…I am…I was a little rogue back then, wasn’t I? Good times. Thank you for everything you did, it must have been tough. So, which is correct ‘I am’ or ‘I was’?”

“It is kind of in-between which reminds me MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY!”

Hi folks! So, today’s count is 382 words (which is better than yesterday) and since the yesterday’s story wasn’t complete I decided to pick it up from where I left. Please, bear with all the mistakes (grammatical/typos), if any, I did the best I could.

  4. When I read this one, I went back to the intro post to make sure it didn’t have to be a continuous story. I obviously didn’t set myself up for one on Angel and Bells didn’t go that way either, but I love that yours is turning into a story in parts. Once my tea is ready, I’m going to sit down for my 26 minutes on Candy.

    I love this challenge! I’m glad you started this even if there aren’t a load of people participating.

    1. Ha! I never have any idea where the characters are going to take me. When I planned this marathon I imagined it to be 26 independent pieces but it clearly didn’t work out that way. 😅
      It didn’t feel right to leave the those two hanging in between like that, so I decided to find out what they had to say. 😁😁

      Me too! I am having so much fun, doing this & it is extremely nice to have you along side.
      Yeah, its okay though, mostly people have a time-crunch & committing for 26 days might seem daunting at first.
      I was nervous at the start but when I started writing, 26 minutes flew so fast & I wrote more than I hoped for.
      I can’t wait to read yours! Heading over, now. 🤗😄💙

      1. Fun is so important in creative endeavours. I’m glad to hear your challenge is treating you well. 🤗💗 I’ve reread it now that I have more time… you’re so good at developing story! This is not my usual genre to read, but I like how you reveal the characters through dialogue, and in spite of the grisly situation, it seems imbued with good humour.     1. Not for all the remaining ones, only till I feel like I have completed it (might be all 24 😅😁).
      I didn’t plan for it this way but my characters aren’t ready to wrap up quickly. I always have to play by their rules. 😅
