Book Review: The Masquerade

Recently, I had the pleasure of reading – The Masquerade– a psychological suspense thriller, written by Manita V. Although a Dermatologist by profession, she is an exceptional storyteller and have been crafting captivating stories for many years now. I have been reading her work, closely, for couple of years and have witnessed her grow into an amazing writer with every story.

Review: The Masquerade

DISCLAIMER: This review is my humble honest opinion. I DO NOT claim to have any authority/power/intention to add/delete any value of the book or of the author. I wish nothing but success to the author.

An exceptional nail-biting cinematic experience!

The book with its mysterious story-line will take you on a roller coaster journey which will keep you sitting on the edge anticipating further twists and turns. In the midst of all the mayhem, you will find yourself rooting for the two star crossed lovers who got entangled in the web that is life.

The author through her fast paced story teleport the readers to the beautiful city of Cremona where the mysteries start to unfold. Due to the exceptional writing of the author, readers can easily visualize the whole story unfolding before their eyes making it into a grand movie to watch.

With a psychiatrist who can’t trust her mind and a rock-star whose actions can’t be trusted, the story is littered with characters who clearly are more beneath their civilized facade. The shadiness of characters around the protagonist keep the readers guessing where will the dice land up with each throw, hooking them to the story in the process and giving a thrilling experience overall.

Apart from the thrilling adventure, the author also manages to bring out various issues which plague our society and have little to do with geographical boundaries. The presence of strong female voices is an additional cherry on the top.

Although a psychological thriller, the book also delivers on the front of romance, perfectly for those who love a backdrop of passionate love. The only thing which bothered me a little with the whole story-line was the slightly rushed climax but the author makes up for it by leaving the plot open so we can hope for a sequel, in future.

Overall, the book is an entertaining read and with not a dull moment. So, you can order your copy now!

My congratulations to the author on her debut.
